LiLu Lip Care Reimagines Lip Balm Packaging

Lip balm lovers know the problem: ten tubes scattered everywhere, yet somehow never one when you need it. That everyday frustration inspired founder Meg Meranus to create a better way to keep lip balm close at hand.

Meranus developed an entirely new approach to lip balm packaging: small, portable doses called Balm Pearls™, designed to fit inside LiLu’s custom jewelry and accessories.

The innovation earned LiLu Lip Care the BeautyID Award for Innovation in Packaging at Cosmoprof North America, and the brand has been featured by WWD, KTLA, New York Magazine, and CEW. LiLu’s innovative refill and packaging system is protected by eight U.S. patents.

The collection includes two signature pendant styles — the sphere-shaped Cosette and teardrop Lexi — available in polished and satin finishes, as well as .925 sterling silver. Balm Pearl refills come in four shades and are made with a simple base of coconut oil, beeswax, sweet almond oil, and avocado oil.

For customers who prefer their own lip balm, LiLu’s Easy 2-Minute DIY Balm Pearl Refill Kit turns a favorite stick balm into custom Balm Pearls at home.

The collection also includes Besties — charming animal lip balm accessories that attach to purses, keys, backpacks, jacket zippers and more — giving customers another fun way to keep lip balm within reach.
